ClinicSense is one of very few platforms built specifically for massage therapy rather than adapted to it. SOAP charting, intake forms tuned to bodywork, no-show protection, and gift-certificate handling that reflects how the trade actually earns in December. Mako covers the same operational ground minus the clinical charting, and adds team, retail, and financial reporting on top. Which one is right depends almost entirely on how many people work there.
ClinicSense: Published. Lite at $39/month for part-time practitioners, Standard at $69/month, and Premium at $99/month for clinics and wellness centres. Paid annually those drop to roughly $35.75, $63.25 and $90.75. Additional practitioners are about $20/month each.
Mako: Pulse is free. Basic at $139/month — the complete platform with three team members. Team at $249/month — fifteen team members, advanced reporting, QuickBooks sync. Enterprise at $999/month — unlimited members. Roughly 20% off annually, no contract.
Solo, ClinicSense wins on price without argument — $39 against $139. The gap narrows as you add practitioners: a five-therapist clinic on Premium is $99 plus four extra practitioners at $20, around $179/month, against $249 on Mako Team which covers fifteen. Somewhere past eight or nine practitioners the per-head charge overtakes the flat tier.
ClinicSense includes SOAP charting. Mako does not, and we say so plainly rather than implying otherwise.
If your practice requires clinical documentation — because of licensing, insurance, or simply because you take treatment notes seriously — that is a hard requirement and ClinicSense meets it. Verify the specifics against your own state or provincial licensing body rather than any vendor's marketing page, ours included.
If you keep working notes rather than clinical records, Mako's client profiles and free-text notes cover it and the comparison moves to everything else.
Built for this trade rather than adapted from a generic scheduler. Intake, charting, and consent flows match how bodywork actually runs.
Clinical documentation in the same system as the diary, at a price no general platform matches.
At $39/month, a one-therapist practice has very little reason to pay more.
Card-on-file and cancellation policy enforcement built around the specific problem of a missed 90-minute slot.
Percentage splits that differ by service and therapist, tips, timesheets, and payouts — native, and calculated at the rate that applied on the day. ClinicSense charges per practitioner and handles pay more simply.
Oils, supplements, take-home products — stock levels, low-stock alerts, consumables linked to treatments, and margin visible per product.
Profit per treatment type after therapist pay and consumables, cash-flow forecasting, LTV. The difference between knowing the table was busy and knowing the room made money.
Pulse compares your rebooking rate against market averages and names who is drifting — free, and it imports from other platforms so you can test it without switching.

Your practice is a business. Not a hobby, not a side project, not a calendar with a cash register. It deserves software that treats it accordingly. If your platform cannot tell you whether you are financially healthy, it is not doing its job. And in 2026, you have better options.
