For independent fitness and movement teachers

Keep the people, sessions and next conversation together.

You teach the session, remember the individual and organise the next booking. Mako Coach is being developed for independent teachers running their own adult fitness and movement practice, with a connected place for client relationships, services and follow-ups.

Your clients, your practice

Build around the way you teach.

Perhaps you teach private Pilates sessions, a small adult yoga group or a regular movement class alongside one-to-one work. Your client relationship may continue across several formats. Keep the service agreement and the next conversation attached to the person, rather than having to reconstruct them from a booking list.

The planned Client CRM gives contact details, permitted notes and agreed next steps a consistent home. You can prepare privately for a session without sharing every working note with the client.

A clear next session

Help clients choose the right service.

Present the private appointments and small-group sessions you offer, with the relevant availability, capacity and booking rules. A returning client should be able to understand which service to book and whether an existing pack covers it.

Keep confirmed bookings, cancellations and attendance distinct. Someone reserving a place is not the same as attending, and attendance is not evidence that they completed an independent training plan. The planned Booking & Scheduling page explains the service journey without requiring a Beta Training connection.

Credits you can explain

Make the pack balance useful in a conversation.

When a client buys a block of sessions, keep the paid purchase separate from the credits used later. Distinguish credits still available, credits reserved for upcoming bookings and sessions already redeemed. That gives you a clearer starting point when discussing the next block.

For example, an adult private-session client may have two available credits and another session already reserved. You can review the record before suggesting a new pack. This is an illustrative example. The proposed Mako fee applies once to the eligible pack payment, with no second charge when a pack credit is redeemed.

The conversation after class

Follow up with something worth saying.

A client asks about next week's session. Another wants to return after a break. Someone else needs to clarify a pack balance. The planned daily follow-up view is intended to bring the reason for attention together with the client history.

Read the context, write a personal reply and agree the next step. Your approval stays part of personal check-ins and encouragement. A read or a reaction is not a substantive answer, and writing a reminder does not mean a client has booked or renewed. Explore Daily Follow-ups & Retention.

Where assigned practice fits

Use Beta Training when you actually prescribe a plan.

If your service includes a structured independent training block, the planned Beta Training connection adds plan review and acceptance, agreed dates, supported workout logging and contextual replies. It is relevant when that is part of the service you teach.

It is not required for a client who only books a class or private appointment. Sharing completed training is optional and revocable, and the coach view depends on successful sync. Incomplete coverage leaves consistency Unknown. Check the supported exercise and recording formats before including assigned training in your pilot.

Review the practice

Look at the week with the right counts.

Dedicated Performance & Analytics is intended to help you review service delivery, offered capacity, bookings and collected payments. A seat in a small group and an hour in a private appointment need different denominators; a paid pack and a credit redemption should not be counted as two collections.

Start with the services you offer today and a small, agreed setup scope. Review the move before importing records or inviting clients. The coach experience is in preview, with access by enquiry and proposed active-client pricing.

Practical questions

A few things to know.

Do I need to prescribe workouts to use the planned service tools?

No. Booking, packs and payment access are intended to work independently of Beta Training sharing. Tell us which private or small-group service journey you need to evaluate.

What does “independent teacher” mean here?

An independent fitness or movement professional serving adult clients through their own practice. This page does not offer school administration, child accounts or clinical care workflows.
